At the end of Terakaft’s 2008 European tour, Kedou, founder of the group and one of Tinariwen’s original members, announced that he would continue his career on his own. These live recordings are a record of the first incarnation of Terakaft - and a tribute to the giant Kedou.
These six titles were recorded during the European tour in the summer of 2008 which ended with the WOMAD festival in England. The group was accompanied on tour by the French musician Jean-Louis Livenais (from the group Akeïkoi) on bass guitar. Two new titles appear, both were written and sung by Kedou: “Targa” and “Ewarnanagh”.
This is a glimpse of the live version of Terakaft just before another page turned in the history of the group. At the end of the tour Kedou announced his departure, once again taking to the road as a free agent. A new era is now opening for Terakaft in the hands of Diara and Sanou…
